“If you’ve not found her music, believe me you should!”

“Jill creates a magical, ethereal space around herself with her charming style and astonishingly broad repertoire. She gives her listeners wings!”

“...although I don’t speak the languages she sings in, other than English, it doesn’t matter because she has such a beautiful expressive voice so full of feeling and emotion that it surmounts any language barrier.”

New Zealand-born JILL ROGOFF specialises in traditional -- particularly British Isles/Celtic and Sephardic -- and early music, and is also a singer-songwriter, therapeutic harper, arranger and unofficial musicologist.

Jill invites you to become better acquainted with her music. On this site, you’ll find summaries of her present dedicated concert programs and school programs, reviews of her solo albums and other albums which feature her singing; reviews of various concert programs she has given in the past, and lyrics of the songs she has written , the poems she has set to music, her own arrangements for songs, and a gallery of photos.

You’ll also find here interviews and some of the articles that she has written over the years on various topics. They reflect only her opinion at the time of writing, and are not meant to be considered as definitive or to be offensive to anyone alive or dead, present or absent. Another page gives some of the poetry and song translations into English that Jill has made over the years.

Jill is currently working on translations into various languages of her musical biography, and the descriptions of her diverse concert programs. So far, the Czech, French, German and Hebrew translations are complete, and parts of the Spanish translation are ready. One in Italian will follow.

For a moving, articulate account of a hands-on experience of the situation in Chad, for example, read the journal of British actor Nathaniel Parker, who visited the country in May 2007. Here’s a direct link to the documentary that he made for Concern during his visit, and another for making a donation.
